I hate how wet it is, but I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing the changes! When's our next trip?!!

That's what I thought.

Still, looking forward to seeing what changes have been made internally. Hopefully this is just the first of many!

It's concept art.

Don't want to be defeatist but it's probably glow in the dark halloween decorations. :P

I have a good idea of what has changed, but I am not going to post any spoilers, the overall ride experience won't be massively different but you'll notice some changes.

It could be open for next weekend.

Hopefully, the main idea is to make the effects more reliable. What do you think?

Valhalla is now open!

According to BPB on Facebook, the ride reopened on Saturday 5th May 2012, with improved scenes and the new frontage and theming!

So, if you want to ride it, you can now!

They've removed the Skull figure. See the pics on google.

Do you mean the one on the front that riders pass under?

That's still there, but it's just been altered.

According to people on Facebook, the scenes haven't changed dramatically, and it's mostly effects that have been improved and are now working.

Not a lot has changed, only two of the scenes have been tweaked.

No improvement on the boat drainage which is very annoying and something which will continue to put me off riding it.

I've done it once, I'll have to be bribed to do it again this year, never liked it and I doubt that'll ever change.

There's photos of the Valhalla area here;

Hmm. So, all in all, not a fat lot for your average guest to notice? Presumably it is behind the scenes, prolonging the life of the attraction kind of things?

I believe it is.

According to PBE, there wasn't a very large queue for it, which worries me really considering that it usually has very big queues.

Maybe people didn't realise it was open because things were still being checked over.

I for one, prefer the old frontage as it looks more like rocks, and the new frontage looks too light. I also preferred the way that you exit into the shop, instead of going over a bridge into the outdoors, as you could see everyone on the ride from there.

I'll see what it's like when I next go to Blackpool which shouldn't be too far away.

Could it not also be that the weather has been god damn awful these past few days as well?

Rarely a time when the weather is decent enough to excuse a jaunt on the ride...

As do I.  :(

The skull looks nowhere near as impressive either.

Well where do I start?

I visited today with the hope she would be open and running and she was, there was a few stoppages but they soon stopped by taking a certain boat off, then it ran fine all afternoon.

I had a very rare perfect ride today, where all effects worked in one ride cyle. This was the first ride of the day!

Unfortunatly, it only takes a stoppage and effects can stop working all day, the face audio didn't stay on for long only lasted a few rides, then off all day!

Got to see the fire square a few times lit on the water, which is also a rare occasion.

Personally I think it looks in a very good condition at the moment, there's been 3 changes inside.

Ice Room
Last Scene
Replaced all the lighting on the FauxFire

Water Tunnel needs cleaning / sorting out, was dumping loads of water in the boats again.

The main front waterfall won't be on for at least 3 weeks, as the front needs to dryout properly.

So i'd thought i'd post my good review...

Looks great! Interesting that they haven't shown the station end... I wonder why?

Matches the sky.

How depressing.

And that first picture, they haven't even bothered painting the whole thing. Big blue patches all over the railings.

I wonder what the train will look like?!

Even the font for the new ride reminds me of something in a food product. It looks friendly, but the ride looks all dull and gloomy! Make your mind up BPBPBPBPB. Anyone got some images of the train.
