I don't know where you've got this number from mate. Per the accounts:

2011: revenue £23,298k, loss for the year £814k.

2010: revenue £23,740k, loss for the year £566k.

Wild mouse is my personal rough n tumble coaster at the park.
The only ride along with Grand National that leaves you really feeling like you have taken a good shaking, that is what a good ride should do.

There is only Blackpool's Big One where you can get the wonderful view "cough" of Blackpool, and then drop to be in pure agony of the rough ride and the freezing weather...

Thing is what will it cost to run a place this big. PBB have already said 8pm close max this year already and ok most of the £5mill has been lent to the park for the new ride. But how much will it cost per hour to run the park.

the issue here you have is the park is finding it very hard to keep above water and cost cutting as bad as it sounds is really the only way they can keep going. I have been told by a staff member that they are finding it very hard but true as people have said how many cuts can you make before the business is hit.
Has the magic gone for me - yep almost!

What lake would this be? All I seem to remember is a large slab of damp concrete.

Oh dear, let's hope this doesn't catch on. Really don't want to see BPB copying Merlin with anything. The uniqueness of what they have, and what they do, is what sets them aside from Merlin.

Top 5 (or 10) Blackpool Pleasure Beach rides

Mon Feb 25, 2013 10:24 am

I started off by doing a top 5 Pleasure Beach rides, but it seems they just have too many good rides for me to be limited to just 5.

So here goes. Mine are as follows...

1. PMBO
2. Valhalla
3. Grand National
4. Big Dipper
5. Wild Mouse

And if anyone cares about my 6-10, here they are...

6. Derby Racer
7. Avalanche
8. Alice in Wonderland
9. Nickelodeon Streak
10. Steeplechase

Thing is, Pleasure Beach has so many good rides that I could actually carry on and extend it to a top 15, but I'll leave it at that  :blah:

But what is everyone else's top 5? Or top 10 like I did if you like. Do you agree that Blackpool has enough good rides for it to not be limited to 5? Or am I giving them a bit too much credit.

Thoughts please  :D

There already a topic about it here: http://forum.towerstimes.co.uk/all-othe ... dark-ride/

Yes it does look good and it's costing around 5 million so the theming should be as good as any dark ride in Europe.

In the cafe section is that all covered over as I haven't seen any pics taken from here or from the river caves below?

A really nice addition for BPB. Obviously not seen the finished article yet or ridden it but you can just tell it's going to be a top notch dark ride experience. I doubt Nick Park would have agreed to this unless it was going to be done properly and well rather than on the cheap.

Ive got my tesco voucher to visit but don't want to go until this opens - i'm itching to get on those coasters though!

I used to Adore BPB but something's gone but its still a great place.

Think i just liked to walk around and pick random rides to go on without having to buy a wristband.

Anyhow. Lots of good rides.

My top 5....

1) - The Grand National
2) - Valhalla (but not on a cold day)
3) - The Big One
4) - The Wild Mouse
5) - Ice Blast (only because it was my first blast drop tower thingy)

They keep removing too many rides though from my childhood though.

Visited BPB for the first time in years last month (despite living less than an hour away!) and had a fun old day :)

My top five are...

1 Steeplechase - love it's crazy uniqueness!
2 Derby Racer - brings back lots of fun childhood memories
3 Grand National - lots of rattly fun
4 Big Dipper - was my first "proper" coaster many moons ago
5 Avatar Disc ride whatsit - loved this one, whooshy spinny fun

It looks very charming like a Disneyland type dark ride. Lack of theming in some areas though

I'm with you there...

There's something quaintly Disney-esque about the presentation of this ride - I like it. :)
