Very rare for DMP to do promo's like that. £18 online is your best value ticket.

Ah ok thanks. A few years ago there used to be vouchers in the newspaper, but I haven't seen them for ages.

Maelstrom is the best ride at Drayton Manor, indeed one of the best flats in the UK, followed by Apocalypse. Beyond that, Pandemonum is OK but although Bounty is good for a Pirate Ship - it's no more than that, and none of the coasters at the park are very good in my view.

:)

True, Alton Towers beats Drayton Manor for Rollercoasters, whereas in my opinion Drayton Manor beats Alton Towers for the other Thrill Rides such as:

Maelstrom
Pandemonium
Stormforce 10
The Bounty

Enterprise
Submission
Ripsaw (I prefer this to The Bounty however)

If Stormforce 10 is a flat, so is The Flume.

You can include The Flume... Stromforce 10 just kicks its ass anyway :P

G-Force closed (Drayton Manor)

Mon Jul 27, 2009 7:13 pm

Went to Drayton Manor today, and noticed a sign saying G-Force was not in operation today. I asked somebody if it might open later on, but they said it has a serious problem and has been closed since last week.

Slightly disappointing :(

With a bit of luck, they'll use the downtime to retrofit the restraints with the new X-car locking mech that doesn't try to squeeze the life out of you while you're going round.

Oh, who am I trying to kid?

G-Force is now back in operation. But, THORPE PARK style, something else has been closed.

Buffalo Coaster is currently unavailable! How can a powered coaster break down? I've never seen any downtime on RMT, RT or FF. :P

Well RMT did kind of split apart back in 2006.

But yes... Buffalo... an odd one.

Drayton Manor or Flamingo Land?

Fri Aug 07, 2009 10:13 pm

Having recently visited both parks, I was considering which of the two I prefer and I honestly can't decide.

They are both very similar in terms of both being 'second tier' parks with a couple of 'big' rides and then lots of smaller support rides.

In terms of theming, both have some ok theming but neither have anything mind blowing.

The only differences I can really see is that the Zoo at Flamingo Land looks as though it has had more attention given to it over the last few years, and Drayton Manor is clearly the leader in terms of dark rides.

Other than that they are both two very similar parks as far as I can see and I can't make up my mind which I prefer.

I would love to see a new rollercoaster at DMP, I hope to be going again sometime soon. I hope they don't remove anything, and just make more space. Because the rides they have at the moment are brilliant, and they are being the guests into the park.
Removed : To boring to display.

Both parks look very nice.

In my view of it, Drayton Manor has a lot of newer stuff and the place looks newer, but Flamingo Land has a much better selection of rides.

Flamingo Land it is.
