I've heard that 2013 is a likely year for major investment...

Food for thought and considering the probability of SW7 turning up at the same time, quite likely...

Im just going on what I have heard, I have heard it on very good grounds that they are looking to install this next season, and that prep is currently underway for planning applications to be sent. The person who has told me is a family friend of my other half, who just so happens to be involved in anything construction related at the park, so if there is anyone that would know whats going on, it would be this person. (everyone seems to know everyone here in Tamworth!) You know how it is, having a BBQ and Beers, socializing, convosation goes from one thing to another, Drayton Manor just so happened to pop up.

That gives me good grounds to belive that this is true, and more importantly, for next season. But, even still, anything could happen and it could not go ahead, time will tell I suppose.

Also I personally would say that there will be a Cartoon Network street expansion with the Haunting ect. But dont you think they would want to cater for a different segment of their market first? The last good few years have been focused on kids and familys. Im sure they recognise the need for something thrill related to be added before they add again to the kids and family market, which has seen good investment in the last few years and is currently in good shape.

Has that Arrow Corkscrew just come out of RCT3? :D

On the other hand, the new B&M is looking fab. That, along with the new Mack coaster can only do good things for the park too. I also love the red and yellow colours on the B&M and it looks stunning in it's setting...

Now you mention it...

I'm sure it's on the drawings and stuff, you could clearly make out the pre-drop and dropping into the loop.

The Haunting clearly needs something doing with it. I don't know if it's standard procedure, but on Sunday there was one host running the entire ride meaning that a group could only go into the first pre-show when the group before had left the attraction. Incredibly frustrating. I think a Scooby Doo retheme would be absolutely perfect though.

I've always heard the new coaster will be for next year, presumably because they don't want to go into competition with SW7. Also they are somewhat on a roll, with the improved staffing, hotel and Ben 10. I would imagine they got some sort of two coaster deal with Vekoma, maybe even two prototypes? These rumours of a Scalextric coaster sound absolutely wild, presumably a Test Track-style dueling/racing Vekoma.

I really think Drayton are our only great hope to take on Merlin and force them to raise their game. Blackpool have too much legacy rides and a crap location, Flamingoland have a crap location, LWV have no money. Thomas Land shows they are capable of Disney quality theming. I really think they could take on Alton Towers if they invest in high quality themed attractions every year, keep the prices low, and plough the profits back into the park. Drayton possess a surprising number of "solid" rides that I'd call the definitive version of that attraction in the country, such as Maelstrom, Apocalypse and particularly Stormforce 10. I'd love for them to add to that.

Its been posted on the RCCGB website in the Ben 10 topic by a site admin that they would be installing a ride that will please thrill seakers in 2012 and that it would be a worlds first from vekoma.

You will need to read most of the thread as the above is a fair few posts down.

I wonder if the new coaster will be a suspended coaster.

Not seen it mentioned anywhere else, the cafeteria is currently being transformed into an American grill. Think TGI Fridays.

From the website above! My god! Drayton are on it like Sonic! :P

A spur of the moment thing, but I'm off to DM tomorrow to catch a glimpse of the morphers (er, no, I'm not going as one myself  ).

Expect a TP and lots of pictures tomorrow

Drayton Manor didn't manage to break the record, with "only" 114 morphs in attendance.

Well it says

"Drayton Manor needs a minimum of 250 people to don the all-in-one outfits and come to the park"

So 249? :)

Morphsuit mania hits Drayton Manor Theme Park

More than one hundred people in Morphsuits descended on Drayton Manor Theme Park today (Saturday 7th May) as part of the park's Morphsuit Mayhem.

The award-winning theme park, near Tamworth, Staffordshire, was attempting to break the World Record for the most people gathered in one place wearing Morphsuits, which are all-in-one lycra suits that completely cover the wearer.

Whilst the record wasn’t broken, an impressive 114 Morphs gathered at the park’s central triangle at midday. Following the record attempt, the Morphs made their way to the park’s thrill rides, such as G-Force, Apocalypse and Maelstrom, for an afternoon of morph-tastic fun.

Colin Bryan, the park’s managing director, said: “Morphsuits are so popular at different events and locations that we wanted to give fans the opportunity to get together as a big group at Drayton Manor.

“The turnout was amazing and it was quite a sight to behold, especially as a lot of people were wearing blue, red and yellow suits, the colour of Drayton Manor’s logo.

"It’s been a wonderful atmosphere, people really enjoying themselves and it’s was fantastic to see big groups of brightly coloured Morphs whizzing around on the rides!”
