If anyone "likes" Drayton Manor on Facebook they have sent everyone a voucher for entry into the park for just £10 on Monday 5th September. Click you messagea and then click other (on the left hand side) then there is a message and a link to the voucher.

On DM's facebook - over the last few days - they have released pictures of the interior of the various hotel rooms. Have to say - looks pretty swish 8)

Lovely, although as I expected they look suited more to business. This is much more like blackpool or chessy rooms, than themed as such.

Exciting!

I'm waiting to see what the "deluxe" rooms and the "presidential" rooms will look like. Unless I missed it - DM didn't specify which type of room the ones above were?

Personally I could do without "themed" rooms. Nothing beats a nice, classy hotel room with a really comfy environment.

Sort of agree... but there is a brand new Holiday Inn Express up the road in Tamworth and this is pretty much direct competition. Personally, at a theme park I would prefer a themed hotel.

Imagine Disney or Europa if their hotels were all just like a normal Holiday Inn, or Mercure?

They do look nice, though as I have already said.

Really nice rooms, but they're too 'hotel' and not enough 'theme park hotel', like Dan said.

I don't mean full on themed rooms or anything, but something to set it apart from a 'normal' hotel.

These rooms are nice and im sure the hotel is great and the facilitys top notch but the thing about the towers hotel is that its rearly expensive but the atmosphere through the themeing is amazing the first time i stayed in there i just soaked up the atmos and its that atmos that brings in repeat custom.
I rearly want drayton manor to succeed but this thing about catering for businessweddings could be going to far, at the end of the day its mostly fans and familys that fill these rooms 365 days of the year and that is who it needs to appeal to but i will reserve full judgement untill after ive stayed there.

Very posh indeed they look!

I guess being near major motorway links i guess they have to have a business aproach also. I think there will be themed rooms made along the way.

Anybody know how much its going to cost for a stay? I think £100-150 for a 2day park pass and hotel wouldnt be too bad even with a breakfast thrown in?

I was at Drayton yesterday with my family and all in all it was a good day out, the park was pretty packed but that was expected for a hot Sunday in the holidays. All the rides seemed to be working fine throughout the day, apart from Excalibur which was closed all day and the 4D cinema was only showing the film in 2D (I still havnt seen a film there because last year it was closed all together when I went! Maybe next year it will all be working!).

I have to say I really liked the new Ben10 ride, the whole queue line was great and I really enjoyed the ride. Luckly I had my little brother with me who explained all about Ben 10 and the different aliens and stuff throughout the queue line. My only issue with the queue line was that it was really really hot! Even with the fans on in one of the queue line buildings it was still boiling in there, they really need more fans or some kind of air conditioning in there. Also the queue line looks nice but some of it is already started to look a bit faded with paint coming off some of the walls where people lean on or walk past. You would think by now theme parks would design these queues so that they dont look tatty after a while, Its alrigh them painting all nice paterns and stuff on the walls, but I can imagine once the paint has all faded it will just be left.

The hotel is looking great! :D Only it seems more like a chain hotel, for example Travelodge, rather than an individual hotel, if you understand me :P

^^ WOW that sounds amazing, I think I might go to this. I love Christmas markets and the idea of the big wheel and the carousel. I can't wait it's only 133 days away now.

I really don't get the hotel. Who on earth would want to stay at Drayton Manor? I'd rather sleep on the street.

Drayton annoys the hell out of me. It should be very good - The ticket price, it's location and how well it's known, but actually it's just a wasteland. It's unpleasant to be in, slow don't-give-a-f*** staff, awful food, with a selection of poor rides and the world's most depressing zoo.

I think Drayton of a few years ago was almost as Hajime described it, but this season it is completely a different park altogether, the staff are still a bit hit and miss but its a huge improvement.

The zoo is still depressing but hopefully its on the agenda, you cant turn things around all in one go. I myself will happily stay in the hotel if theres an oppertunity to do so.
