The Great Theme Park Road Trip

Fri Jun 06, 2008 8:02 pm

Hey,

Random thought, due to a recent excusion i went on across Europe i wondered if anyone fancied arranging a road trip, open to everyone, perhaps beginning and ending at AT and can go perhaps in the UK and/or Europe?

Perhaps pick some of the UK's best theme parks:

Alton Towers
Drayton Manor Park
Oakwood
Flamingoland
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Chessington World Of Adventures
Thorpe Park

Decide a route and do them over a few days, as to everything else i havent even given it a thought yet!

You know Ash I've been planning something like this for some time, just need to learn to drive, and get a car before I go ahead with it. My idea was to do the following *in no particular order*:

- Alton Towers
- Drayton Manor
- Oakwood
- New Pleasureland Southport
- Pleasure Beach, Blackpool
- Loudon Castle
- Codona's Park
- M&D's Scotland Park
- Flamingoland
- Lightwater Valley
- Fantasy Island
- Chessington, World Of Adventures
- Thorpe Park
- Adventure Island, Southend
- Flambards
- Wicksteed Park

That'd be my trip, obviously thats nearly £1000 worth of wristbands/entry/accomedation, so I would pick the most common out of them..

That's a good idea! But you'd need least more than 2 cars to fit everyone.. Or, maybe camping?

I'm not being funny or anything but um, wouldn't you all start to smell a little bit if all you did was sleep in the car somewhere for the duration of this trip? Lol

Well obviously it wouldnt happen on every journey, it was just mentioned to add a feel of "roughing it" to the adventure.

Sounds great, but what about money costs? And who would be willing to drive all over the UK with about 10 or so people in the back?
