Having been on the one at Gardaland, I can safely say that is the stupidest concept for a roller coaster I've ever seen.

But I have to admit, I did like it. And re rode it several times due to it being nearly walk on. :P

See this is what happens when coaster companies do drugs!

Vekoma build this

Intamin get Giovanola conceive this

British Rail and BCM do this

Most normal companies make some pretty wacky and crazy rides.

However, Supercar do things like that:

They even added a joint to prove they were smoking something at the time! :P

No that was concieved when one of Vekoma's top designers went to a Sado-Masochistic convention and got very much turned on by being punched in the jaw with a big stick..... He then went home and designed the worst roller coaster ever made.

Some strange concepts I found whilst browsing are...

The wooden inverted coaster:

And the Fabbri 3-across inverted coaster:

And whilst these two attractions aren't coasters, they features coasters in/on them:

The S.S Disney was Disney's idea of putting an entire park onto a cruise ship. If such a thing existed today, it would probably be one of the most incredible things to ever see!

Here's an article on the project that never came to fruition as well. I'd kill to see that built! :(

And finally, an idea of building a theme park... as a skyscraper! Architect Ju-Hyun designed the park to fit into a city where there's little space available for a conventional park:

That actually looks terrifying, and yet, so awesome at the same time! :P

Fabbri have built 3 of their inverted coasters (model name Mistral 63), rcdb only has pictures of Mirage Rosso
at Zoosafari Fasanolandia in Italy

rollercoasterphilosohpy.com has a review and POV of that one, and it looks and sounds hilariously rubbish.

I wonder what the single-rider queue is like for that? :P

Just found a pov of that coaster you found, John. No wonder they only ever built 3, they look terrible. The lift hill is ridiculous! :P

It still looks like a better ride than their inverted wild mouse.

Well this was an odd one. I found this coaster and thought "that's an odd side section for a Maurer Söhne, why have they added the side sections:

Image

Wrong! It's made by EOS Rides of Italy. Another Pinfari?

Image

Their websites is also really suspicious. Under the section for Log Flumes they have a picture of Splash Mountain and Legoland’s Pirate Falls. Something tells me they didn't really make those rides...
