KMG - Inversion - Rock Rage - it's here!

Fri Jul 10, 2009 1:32 am

Thanks to my good friend Martin Edwards i am pleased to show you photos of the new KMG inversion on it's first build up and test run. http://martinsfunfairpics.photoblog.org.uk/

Just click on Wirral Show 2009 Build Up & Wirral Show 2009 Day 3 Build Up

There is also video footage recorded by Martin.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze7UBLjujaQ

I think it's a stunning looking ride and the colour scheme is excellent. There is still a bit of extra work going on to add the extra flash built onto the ride, like more artwork, lights & a sound system from disco smash ( http://www.discosmash.com/ ) to be fitted, so it's going to be a stunner.

So if anyone here lives near Merseyside and can attend the Wirral Show funfair, i suggest you give it a go :)

Such a nicely themed ride, basic and an amazing colour scheme. I know they've switched all the lights to LED. should be good to see it at Goose/Hull though..

That looks nicely twisted! :D/
I love the way traveling ride designers think.
"Hey, let's take the base of ride A, the arm(s) of ride F, and the seats from ride N, bolt 'em all together and see what happens!"

Dont think this will happen. Discosmash have been selling speaker and amp combinations to showman for years and years, as have Hoffman in Germany.

Discosmash also sell Jingle machines which EVERY ride has. I do know that Discosmash speakers can take any ammmount of throwing around and any weather condition thrown at them also.

that looks pretty good - if the seats are comfy, and not like the tango one's it could be a great ride!

Hello all.
Many of the fair people who take photo reports have taken some more over the past few days.
Here are some more very nicely detailed photos of the ride in action, Courtesy of John Ryan.
http://www.jrsfunfairpictures.fotopic.net/c1725377.html Just flick through to see photos of it :)

I can also confirm the sound system was indeed disco smash and couldn't of been a better choice, they are custom made boxes and are still yet to be securely fitted to the ride, which will certainly happen.

You can also notice some poles attached with black bin liners which are no doubt either more lighting, or more artwork, i will find out in due course.

Cheers, Harrison.

That's correct, but there has been slight modifications with lighting and internal material design, basically to improve them, cheers.

I'm sorry to say i don't do Fun Fairs :P
I just don't trust something that packs up on the back of a lorry and drives to another location :P i like my rides and rollercoasters connected strongly deep into the group :P :P

Don't they reckon they are safer though because of the regular checks needed?

I would trust a fairground ride over anything running at Drayton Manor Park thats for sure.

So you won't ride Samuri, Blade, UG Swinger, RipSaw etc? They are all protable.
Infact, Corkscrew was portable. So are The Beastie and Rattlesnake. Need I go on?

Don't forget Enterprise which is still on its wheels.

I do understand were people come from when they say that they don't trust fairgrounds.

The only thing I don't like about fairgrounds is that they seem more lax on their restraint checking, much like the European theme parks.
I like to get my restraint checked! :P

To stay on topic.... The KMG Inversion looks epic, gutted I was too busy to go over to the Wirral show to try it.

With regaurds to restraints i can assure you all showman make sure they are pushed down properly. I don't know what fair you felt this way at, but every fair down my way ( kent & london ) make sure everyone is safely in before the ride starts.

I think in many ways traveling fairs have more to loose if sued than a large theme park. So they probably double check restraints where a major park would just tug it quickly.

As far as safety goes. Try going to the showground the night before and watching them setup. Under their skirts, most rides are leveled with wooden packing, just like a mobile crane. And they are pretty safe. The fact that the rides are assembled frequently means all the bolts are probably tighter than a ride that is assembled once, then just checked on.

Plus, I quite like the 'added danger' feeling. Especially when your feet swing within 1m of a shop front!
