"Good Looking" Coasters

Fri Aug 27, 2010 4:51 pm

First I'd just like to say this is not a topic about the coasters you think will provide a good ride, but literally those which look good visually, most aesthetically pleasing, sexy (?) etc etc. Also remember, the rides don't necessarily have to be good, they just have to look nice.

Whilst strictly this isn't the actual coaster itself, the exterior of Space Mountain: Mission 2 looks amazing, even more so in the dark as a recent post reminded me.

Image

I also have a particular liking to blue coasters as well, I don't know what it is but I think blue looks really good on coaster track. Particular mentions go to:

Blue Fire, mainly for that humungous loop, it looks magnificent!
Image

Furius Baco would look a bit plain plonked on a car park, but its setting, especially the turn on the lake really enhances it in the Spanish sunshine.
Image

Of course, how could I forget the lovely B&Ms which look pretty darn good anyway, however Griffon would have to be one of my favourites. It's definitely the most beautiful coaster I've seen with my own eyes and photos don't really do it justice.
Image

However, I think the prettiest coaster award has to go to Manta. Everything about the coaster looks beautiful, the lovely blue track, its setting in Florida amongst palm trees, the manta ray trains and the water splash is the cherry on the cake. Got to be the best looking coaster in my eyes.

Interesting topic :)

I certainly agree on Blue Fire :D

Big Thunder Mountain at DLP has to get a mention, it's simply beautiful

Expedition Ge Force also looks absolutely incredible amongst it's settings.

Expedition Everest also deserves a mention

And Boulder Dash :D

Nemesis looks menacing. It LOOKS intense, distorted and mangled. The suprise is how smooth it is when you actually get on it.

Agree with all of Mitch's original list. I would also like to add Blue Fire at night and

Atlantica SuperSplash, Europa Park
Is it a Coaster? Debatable but it’s on the RCDB.

I just think the colour and support structure are so simple and elegant on a sunny day.
(Which the picture above wasn’t)

Looking at Nemesis, Air or Inferno from a certain angle gives me what Jeremy Clarkson calls a "crises".

Thats more of a good photo that a good looking coaster though!

All of Disneyland Paris's coasters are good looking, even Indiana Jones despite being a terrible actual ride is painfully pretty.
