Wow! Thanks for that Maelstrom. This could be absolutely insane - 80mph ground-hugging on a B&M? Definitely designed following Intamin's Giga success.

Grabbed a few plans:

And the track is on site:

Luckily it's at the opposite end of the park to Behemoth, but still seems a somewhat crazy move. Will look incredible though.

Don't want to be premature, but blow me what a ride.

A big B&M with a real layout! Those low hills should be great. It's early, but this is well in with a shout of best giga yet. =P~

Only criticism. That brakerun. Weird. Why not all on a slope?

I hate to say it, but for $28mil, I'd want a lot more than a load of ups and downs. I don't see the attraction to a ride where you just go up and down some hills a few times, I'd much prefer something half the size with more inversions and a possible world's first feature. Especially when they're got a similar rollercoaster there already!

Its a nice ride, like the colours and great to see the traditional train style making an appearance.

BTW Maelstrom, Behemoth was 2008, not 1998. :)

Ah crap I can already see a trim - left camelback of this image:

Mind you, it is right at the tail end of the ride.

Poor Port Aventura. They’ve been beaten to having the tallest B&M by a park that’s already got a similar one. How bizarre, especially that it’s using the older train design.

I have to say I love the look of the layout. Compared to B&Ms Hypers I’d almost call it innovative. Drop into a corner, followed by a low turn, then a few low hills before more turns. For B&M that should be interesting.

Also 306 :P I see what they did there.

EDIT: Captain you have a knack of spotting trims, stop spoiling the fun ;)

How many coasters are they building? They seem to be churning out loads compared to two or three years ago.

Looks wonderful, didn't know this was planned or even that track was on site!

This coaster looks excellent but I am completely puzzled as to why the park would build two consecutive coasters of such a similar style.

This really does look pretty sweet, tis great to see B&M do another slightly unconventional thing lately and not just keeping it safe. When I visited Canada's Wonderland a few years back I remember being pretty overwhelmed by the number of coasters they had back them, but none of them really were that great or memorable. With the addition of Behemoth and this coaster it really does seem they're adding some real world class coasters to the park which should boost it's reputation up.

As they already have an SLC, a Togo stand up, a Zamperla flying coaster, an Arrow Suspended, about half a dozen assorted sit downs, Behemoth and 2 woodies there isn't much else you can add that isn't already there. I must admit that it does make Behemoth a little redundant after this but nonetheless it still looks like it's going to be a pretty awesome ride. Shame these parks never bother with themeing. :(

Why are the building a coaster so similar to Behemoth, even the same ride model? Won't it make Behemoth a bit obsolete? It'd be like a park building TTD then building Kingda Ka a few years later!

Silver Star is no longer the world's tallest B&M. :(

Also I thought B&M's two rules were not doing launches and not going over 300ft? :?

I thought the same thing until I went on Silver Star last week. ;)

Although I have found that once a coaster gets over a certain hight (about 180 feet) it no longer matters how high you are... it's just "****ing tall!"

Seems a weird move by Wonderland, but this coaster looks incredible and beautiful. Two coasters that are the same product built by B&M in one park will not hurt anyone will it?!

At just over 90 miles an hour, is it fair to say that this will be the fastest B&M in existence?

It does seem odd to construct this following their already new B&M "Behemoth". I don't really get the purpose for this park. As Sam said, it's going to make Behemoth look a bit pointless, especially given that it'll have the same track style.

That said, it looks like a great ride. Not that I have any chance on riding this in the near future.

Sorry if this has been posted but a POV of what it will be like can be seen here.

I am somewhat surprised to see Canada's Wonderland building this when they do already have Behemoth but it does look like it could be good! Certainly puts to bed all those rumours about B&M only ever building a coaster so tall etc. Seems like this will be the park for anyone who is a fan of B&M Mega coasters though with them having two of them.

Maybe they're making up for Behemoth's blandness? :P

I spotted at least one trim on the POV, but remember the Intimidator one that didn't show any trims, only for the ride to go on to have them?

I've got a feeling this could be the best giga yet.

But 306? Cynical. :P

A park making up for the blandess of another ride doesn't exactly ring right. I am sure the general public adore Behemoth.

Still...

It's nice to see B&M finally going over 239' - Silver Star has been their biggest coaster to date for 10 years now!

You've gotta wonder why they didn't whack another five feet on and make it the tallest non-launched coaster outside of Japan. There are actually two trims - also one on the camelback before the turnaround. :(

Deciding the best new coaster of 2012 is going to be pretty impossible, even if you were to limit it to B&Ms.

I've wondered for years why they don't bother. All the gigas are so close together, so it's hardly pushing things o go five foot higher and make the biggest.
