Was never a huge fan of the old theme, thought it felt a bit cheap.

Can't really judge anything based on that picture, especially as it's a rather badly done Photoshop montage...

It's a very tedious, late-90s and unimaginative vision of the future, just screens and glowing blue ambient lighting everywhere.

I think the idea behind Test Track was a very clever one but judging by videos it wasn't amazingly executed. I always thought experiencing a car test as a test dummy was an interesting idea but I think they took the theme to literally. The bit at the end where they reveal the surprise test to be a crash test should be a punchy shock reveal. Only it's played in a really monotone voice, almost giving away the fact that the wall is going to part for you.
That is the impression I got from on-ride videos anyway, it’s a shame I never got the chance to go on it.

I don't quite get how this new theme is meant to work. So you're getting on cars which are being designed and built, despite the fact you're already riding them :? Now if Disney actual has a ride vehicle that's assembled around you I'd be impressed but I doubt it.

If you go on you tube and search videos from around 1999 to 2001 you can see how good it was. Was shocked to see the car that crashes working.

In that case, a bit like Oblivion.

Granted, it looks awful... but can it really be so much there than what it was previously? Can it really be any worse than the rest of the "rides" at Epcot? The place as a whole is utterly awful in comparison to the rest of the theme parks in Florida, and it's actually nice just to see Disney giving it some attention, more than anything. Even if it is merely in the form of a sponsorship.

The old theme was clever, but in the end turned out to be a messy, mismatched and boring disaster (this, my opinion in spite of it being my favourite attraction at Epcot). The theme wasn't made wholly clear, the thrill factor was non-existent and what effects there were temperamental, working only on occasion. It didn't feel like a complete attraction, more a series of scenes (much the same flaw as Soarin')...

So the re-theme doesn't bother me. Hopefully it'll be an improvement, but if not, it's no great loss. :)

Err... what? EPCOT is an amazing theme park. The atmosphere in the World Showcase is probably the most amazing atmosphere I've ever felt in a park. It's breathtaking.

And Future World isn't half bad either. Test Track and Spaceshop Earth are both really great! Also, in terms of overall concept, it's by far the most interesting concept for a theme park ever...

World Showcase is outstanding.

Also, personally I find the whole 1980's take on the future quite interesting.

It needs more rides though.

This is a turn up for the books; the SAME sponsor putting more money into an 'old' albeit AMAZING attraction - more of this please...

So long as the 'track' doesn't change too much & the theming stays on par with its current standard, this can be nothing but good news!

Actually; I think TT is the ONLY ride where the sponsor enhances the experience. It makes you feel you are getting to look 'behind the scenes' at GM/Chevvy, which IMO is only a good thing, otherwise it would just be, "oh I'm on a ride, this is cool" whereas TT is also informative - which I love, hence how 'Discovery Science' is one of my only Favourites on the Sky Box!  :P

EDIT: & completely agree Epcot needs more 'rides' although with fear of maybe changing the atmosphere somewhat.

When I saw the first picture, I thought it was getting rethemed to TRON....
