I have an idea for the Merlin Annual Pass Capsule. For Standard passholders, offer the capsule at £1.99 and 75p refills (like they are doing now). For Premium passholders, offer the capsule at £16 and unlimited refills like they did last year and for VIP passholders, offer the capsule at £10 and unlimited refills. That way, everyone is happy but also, more people will move away from the Standard pass if this did happen.

Rhwy5 only care about profit. They will win as they sold double the number of MAPs this year.

So does anyone know the terms and conditions of these birthday vouchers as part of our perk packs that still haven't arrived! As my birthday is Tuesday May 6th, and wondering how they class a week either side, so would it be okay to use on Tuesday 29th April?

Does anyone have any insight into when (if!) the VIP MAP will launch?

I know the drinks thing is old news now

but lets say that the drinks bottle costs less than 1.99 to get made and put into the venues , then that would leave around £14 profit, the cost to Merlin to fill the bottles would be at the very very outside 10p ago that would mean a bottle would have to be re filled 140 times before merlin started making a loss .. I really cant see many people ever doing that in a year even a family of 4

that means that the £16 deal was a bit of a rip off

current deal £1.99 plus 75p even more so that's a massive mark up !

Since Alton Towers have just announced their VIP packages, I can't help but laugh at what they include!

Second, following the customer research we’ve also made the capsules a little smaller to make sure your drinks stay fresher and fizzier for longer. And for those of you who brought up fizzy vs non-fizzy drinks – read on.
Third, we wanted to stick it to the wasps, pure and simple. In previous years we’ve had a problem with drinks being thrown away and in warm weather this causes a problem with wasps which, we are committed to beating. On the new Merlin Annual Pass quenchers you’ll now notice an ‘anti-wasp’ message, asking you not to pour unwanted drink onto the ground.

Given that Merlin told us they discontinued the unlimited drinks refills to prevent wasps and to keep drinks fresher (apparently just out of consideration for their customers...), then it is amazing that they are willing to treat us pass holders better than those that have a VIP package! How very kind of them ;)

Oh right, well I didn't see any capsules at thorpe park today... Will have to get one when I go Alton towers next week.

Do we know if these new smaller capsules are sealable as I bought a day one from Thorpe last summer and it was terrible, as the lid didn't seal properly and there was a hole on the top of the lid which didn't help with bees and wasps at all as it leaked everywhere, and meant you couldn't store it in your bag or anything out the way or even leave it on the side of rides as it would get knocked over and spilledy... So pointless! Won't be getting one if that's still the case!!

^ They had loads at TP. On sale in the Dome shop.

They are identical to last years capsule except for them being smaller.

The hole is necessary to stop the pressure building, as a few years ago there was no hole and the capsules kept erupting drink everywhere!
