but why waste so much money on a cheap gimmick? it's not going add much to the ride experience is it? I'd rather see the money spent on sprucing up X Sector...

I know this topic is about whether or not you'd like to see it, but I just don't see the point in a Floorless Oblivion! the rides too short and not enough happens, not to mention it would make no difference whatsoever to the ride experience...

Am i the only person here who thinks the cars are basically floorless anyway? Its quite a stretch to put your legs on the floor when your in the seat in the first place.

No point...

I doubt it would ever go floorless. The duration of the ride is too short to make such a substantial purchase worthwhile. I would like to see it, but like already mentioned it wouldn't really add to the effect.

Anyway Oblivion wouldn't be Oblivion if it did go floorless. It's a world's first, and should stay that way.

I don't think there would be any point in it becoming floorless though. The origional Oblivion is great as it is, and there is no need to change it at all. And like someone has already said, it would take a lot of work aswell.

they wont ever do anything to it again im afraid.
a repaint in a few years time and just keep the ride
running it would be silly for them to improve an old ride
something new needs to go there.

Oblivion is only ten this year!
It would cost less money to make improvements to what is still a great ride, than to replace it.

There isn't that much space in that area, and with troubles with the ropers they would kick up such a fuss it'd be alot of trouble.

In my experience if its not broke, its best not to fix it!

In other words: It works fine and attracts people still, so just leave it!

Ooh I'd never thought of that, would be damn scary!

But I think when you go over the edge it would be very hard to actually stay stood up!

I still like my rebranding of the ride, featuring the back row to be reversed making the ride available to ride both forwards and backwards. Seating would be effectively back to back and the backwards choice would be branded as "Oblivious"

You couldn't go Oblivion backwards. The force on you against the restraints would be too big.

I think it should stay original, floorles could be good however it would mean spending money that could be spent on something else, and it could also spoil the ride :? .

I also like the backwards idea but have to agree with Johno, it would just be too painful

Just keep Oblivion as it is. Floorless would be too expensive and any other ideas probably wouldn't work

I say keep it as original aswell, Floorless never really interested me and it would sound like Alton Towers is trying to get success from other coasters that have gone floorless, but I may be wrong there.

Maybe at the exit of the tunnel, the track could flatten out at ground level and do an intense high-g helix, then a tall turn into the brakes as normal. So you would get the zero-g sensation while falling before the tunnel, then again after it as you level out, then be pile-driven back into your seat to finish off
