AT Waterpark Improvements

Sun Feb 22, 2009 3:25 pm

Hello all.

What improvements would you, the enthusiasts like to see within Alton Towers Waterpark. Leave aside new attractions and extensions, I am talking what feasible improvements you would like to see happen now. This year.

You never know, if good ideas, they may implement them!

Anything from small signage updates, to new features or ideas.

Lets hear them!

I'd like to see all the features on the 'Wacky Waterworks' actually working as every time I go there seems to be a few things broken.

Get some more water flowing down the outside slides, or make it more powerful - I have to practicaly push myself down them!

Yeah there's been new permanent barriers in the Master Blaster ring area, they've fixed up almost all of the Wacky Waterworks and changed all of the Master Blaster rings. All of the lazy river features are now working too!

I'd like to see a major expansion of the resort, including the Waterpark being almost doubled in size.

More rubber rings for the lazy river, and maybe in the future a dramatic extension to the river

I'd paint over that crappy mural on the wall of the changing rooms! - It's one of the best Waterparks in the UK, not a childrens day care facility! :|

I'd build an acutal-swimming pool, for those who just want to swim. :)

Am I the only one in thinking the change from "Cariba Creek" to "Waterpark" was an extremely big un-improvement?

Nope you're not the only one! It would've been far better to simply push to Cariba Creek name more. "Water Park" just takes away from what is a fantastically themed hotel and water park.

I know. How dull is "The Alton Towers Waterpark". This is a very poor move by the park, I mean, I know they may think guests don't obviously think "Cariba Creek" is a waterpark, but this is just generic and dull.

Why don't they just call it Cariba Creek Waterpark!?

It doesn't exctally make it sound world class but then the public don't care about the name, nothings changed about the waterpark and Alton just want the waterpark to be noticed more by the public.

On the new 2009 leaflets advertising Extraordinary Golf the waterpark is named 'Cariba Creek Waterpark'. I honestly feel it sounds so much better then Alton Towers Waterpark.

That's like people not automatically thinking 'Nemesis' is the name of a rollercoaster so renaming it 'Alton Towers Rollercoaster'.....the difference here is advertising, the waterpark isn't advertised enough outside of the park...and once you're in there it's too late!

Im thinking, Oblivion The Slide. Basically a vertical black water slide. It could drop into a hole that was some water misters around the edge of it.

That's not actually the worst idea in the world! Call the slide Oblivion but in driftwood themeing to make it look like the Caribbean take on the ride. Would also save space too!
