Ye, they made a real mistake with the outdoor ones in my opinion. Either they shouldve made them longer and better, or put more out there, cos they are really poor rides.

The waterpark is in desperate need of an expansion and some more rides

I would but they haven't got a £10 million inverted rollercoaster so nah, i'll go to AT instead.

Every time I go to the water park, the outdoor bits are closed

And Adz: for once we are in agreement. :P

True, its seems they are closed more than they are open, yet the water pumps are left running so its clearly a staffing issue and not for cost saving.

You say that like the two are entirely unlinked.

Usually the quickest and easiest way for a business to cut costs is to cut down staff numbers. The savings soon mount up.

Yeah thats true, but why would they leave the pumps running?

*I think* that the water from the outdoor pools originates from the top of the slides and is sent down all of them to the bottom. Therefore to open the outdoor pool or to stop it becoming stagnant or empty they need to keep the flow going.

I visited the Waterpark on the 21st for a while and had a fantastic time!

The outdoor slides where great as there was no Que and to me there seemed to be enough water.

For a few suggestions i would like to see there to be more organization when collecting rings for the slides as it was a free for all at the time.

I also work as a lifeguard so i know how boring it is but the guy on the master blaster looked extremely bored which put a damper on the atmosphere.

I was impressed with the theming and general tidiness of the park and i hope it continuos to expand and improve.

They need more rings for Master Blaster. When I went last Friday, I ended up waiting about 5mins just to collect a ring, but when i got to the queue, there was hardly anybody waiting to ride. They seem to have loads of double rings for kiddies, but hardly any single rings.

^ I agree, even last year in the summer, it was taking twice as long to get the ring as it did to get on the ride.
If you go down to the Towers today, you\'d better ride Th13teen. :P

I agree. I can think of many other water parks that have this issue. Water World and Splashdown are notorious for it (but Splashdown makes up for it with great slides).

Out of curiosity, does Master Blaster ever suffer from back ups? I've had this happen several times at Water World, and the whole thing has to be e-stoped so the lifeguards can walk through it to solve the problem.

The problem is with rings, there are only a certain amount of people that can be queuing on the Take Off steps. By adding more rings just increases the queue at the top. It wouldn't make the queue go any faster.

Surly 5 mins is not much of a wait compared to days it's like 1 hour?

i think alton towers waterpark needs a new water slide! In germany somewhere at this water park they have an upside down water slide. You stand in in tube and then the door closes and the floor moves away and they shoot down vertically then up upside down really fast of course then back down then they come flying out the end.
This would be the Uk's First Upside Down Water Slide!
Heres the video on You Tube!

I've not been there since I was a kid. Last time I went, I was too chicken to go on most of the slides... I only did the wide, slow flumes, and the (rather epic) lazy river.

I was exactly the same on my first visit. That lazy river is awsome though isn't it :D

It puts other waterparks to shame. The indoor section is brill, with the curving drops and whirlpools. But it then moves outside and just keeps going! :D
I soooo wish Alton would build something like that. [-o<
