What is next to go?

Mon Apr 27, 2009 6:33 pm

I was just wondering about which major ride will be the next one AT get's rid of?

Rumours were sparked that Blivvy was going to go at the end of the '08 season, but it ended up as Corkscrew, which was really suprising! (or to me it was, lol)

So, post your views!

I never heard of oblivion rumoured to leave in 2008. That would be silly.

The fact is, none of them are going any time soon, theyre all very good coasters, and unless a very good reason is sparked up theyre not going.

And please dont let this turn into another "OMG IS NEMESIS LEAVING?!?!?!?!?" thread... cuz no... its not and it wont for years!

The only thing i can see leaving soon however is Ripsaw! It's dying...

I would like to hope that Beastie will be replaced by a more modern Junior coaster in the coming years.

As for the rest, Blade seems to be running well now, most of the old rides are pretty refreshed at the moment.

The Flume seems to be dying a very slow and painful death. I can see that either having an uber-refurbishment or replacement in the not too distant future as the next major project after SW6.

Agree with both of you :) The Beasties a great little ride, but is showing it's age a bit, and if replaced with a better kiddie coaster, like a Mack Youngstar, It'd be great =]

I think beastie will go when they decide to do an Adventureland refurb. I think even a Vekoma junior coaster will be a good addition. They make good coasters when well themed. I know that they are very simple concepts but I think it would suit that area of the park as its got Spinball for a ride with a difference

Two family costers in the same area...with no other rides? For some reason I don't think AT will be doing that...

On topic though i think the flume will be next to go, the sponsorship is nearly over, they may well leave it for a few years then change it in around 2012. Hopefully with a water coaster....

In terms of coasters, I think Corkscrew was the last "off-the-shelf" coaster to leave the park. The rest are custom which I imagine will stay for a long time.

For other attractions though I think the flume is edging towards the door.

I would hope Enterprise is the next to go, after what happened to Thorpe's and just the general state of the thing I would be nervous to go on it again.

The Flume doesn't need to go, it has massive potential. I mean, it's a water ride that's right next to an area with a theme very strongly associated with water! If it is rethemed it has so much potential for an incredibly immersive attraction, they could have theming in the currently totally bare forest-meander-y bit between the first and second drops. On the last drop you could pass through some sort of pirate themed structure at the top, possibly with a flag or sails on? Then of course you could have loads of fun with the main like, little pirate ships floating around, firing little smoke puffs every now and then...

I got carried away there a bit... but I agree with the above posters, something to replace the Beastie is sorely needed and it'd be one ride where AT wouldn't have to worry about height restrictions!

I guess this is what they're on about...

As much as I like Enterprise, it has barely any re-rideability, and could be replaced by a much better coaster.

I would like to see Enterprise or Submission removed although the Beastie will probally be the next ride to leave along with a Adventure Land re-theme.

Saying that the flume is slowly rotting away.

I think the next ride to go may be Submission or The Beastie. She is a good little coaster, showing age but she is still relyable. I don't think she has broken down once or at least many times, I am may be wrong here but there you go. :) I think when Aventure Land has a re-theme, Beastie will be gone.

To be fair, with a bit of creative thinking I think theres enough room around there for something like a roller skater or a small Mack whateverthemodelnameis coaster. Decent little rides they are, too.

It's already being rethemed to a Dark Forest, or something like that.

Oh, and...

Rumours emerge that a coaster other than Corkscrew could be leaving the park. Oblivion is suggested following concerns regarding noise levels and tunnel maintenance.

Speculation now centres on X - Sector as a possible new home for SW6 considering the Black Hole tent is still standing empty.

Ah I see! Still even if they thought of removing it, it would be way too much hassle for what its worth... The tunnel is DEEEP!

Mack Youngstar? I dunno, you could get a really small one in there i suppose, it wouldnt be very good mind you due to how small it'd be.

I guess if the BH tent was taken, you'd have slightly more room.
