A Realistic Enterprise Leaving Date!

Sun Jun 19, 2011 9:15 pm

Ok, so they highlighted this in The 10 Year Development Plan that Enterprise will leave, but when? Could it be at the end of Season for the BH Tent new ride next Year so They Spruce up X-Sector?! Or later, vote in the Poll.

I would imagine if we got a new ride in the black hole tent then they would surely change or update the whole of Xsector as the whole area is looking a mess. I think this could be a time when they remove enterprise (or maybe move it to somewhere else in the park?). However Oblivion comes out right in between Enterprise and the blackhole tent so im not sure one ride could replace the tent and Enterprise, unless they got another small ride to replace Enterprise.

^Either that, or they relocate another AT ride to X-Sector, such as Blade or Ripsaw. That could make sense if AT were planning on building SW7 in Forbidden Valley, and needed to free up space.

If we're not getting a new X-Sector ride next year (which is not what's currently being rumoured) and then SW7 in 2013, then I imagine X-Sector will see a new ride in 2014 and 2013 will be the last year for Enterprise. The thing is KNACKERED.

I dunno, but considering they remove the whole wheel every winter for maintenance I can't imagine it's got many years left...

The bh tent already has an outdoor queue setup for a new ride but to fit more people in the queueline i think it will get cattlepen treatment so there isnt any need to remove enterprise unless something good replaces it. Personally i want it gone asap its boring and outdated for such a big park.

It is outdated, but it is certainly no more of an embarrassment than Submission, and I know which one I find more enjoyable.

I think next year is not unrealistic for Enterprise to leave.

with the current management it'll stay until the thing falls apart, then they will just put a wall around it, and not replace it.

Might even get an additional p2p on said wall if they really push the boat out.

I think it'll be removed whenever something is put in the BH tent. Using the space it takes up aswell.

I do enjoy Enterprise but it is outdated and looks just like a funfair ride in a big theme park now so it'd need to go soon. They need to get rid of Submission too. So maybe they could put one bigger and better flat ride on the area where Submission and Enterprise are. Or a coaster that shoots out of the Black Hole's tent and all over the area where these 2 rides are, then back into the tent. Like an indoor/outdoor coaster or something, if you know what I mean? Probably too big for that tent lol. I know there's already a rollercoaster in X-Sector. But it's just a thought :)

Well as people have been saying when X-Sector refurbished then it will be remeoved, it is in a dire state and in my opinion looks awful. I can't see it being there for another 3 or 4 years I'd say 1 or 2 at the most.

To be honest, I hope it never leaves. I enjoy it thoroughly every time I go on it! A little spruce up would make it fine! When it does go i shall be sad.

I just realised something...

Alton Towers removed more and more flat rides in the past few years. Look at Bone Shaker and Dynamo (I was gonna say UG Swinger but I realised it's only moved into another area and renamed)

Probably Enterprise and Blade next :-k

There are rumours that blade could be moved. Maybe that could end up back to where it was before and replace Enterprise? But that would just be like removing one crappy old ride for another crappy old ride. Although Enterprise might be quite fun and interesting, it just looks so old and so tacky (mainly because its on the back of a lorry!).

Knowing Alton at the moment they will keep the ride until the wheel falls off, or H&S tell them its not safe. Hopefully it will get removed and replaced, rather than just removed.

It defifinitly should go soon but shouldnt alton then invest in more flat rides look at dynamo and bone shaker. I still think a new flat ride needs to go into the dark forest

Although Enterprise dosent really appeal to me, I see that lots of people enjoy it & often whenever the subject of alton towers comes up with a non-enthusiast, one of the first things they say is:

"Aww you know that spinny thing near Oblivion? Erm I think its called Enterprise or something. I been on that, its really good. You ever been on it?" (Or something similar)

This to me shows that it is a good ride, & draws in the crowds. Its not exactly falling to bits is it? So If Id hope it wont be leaving too soon.

Alton are rapidly nearing a time when all their thrill flats will be at the end of their useful life. Blade is a complete mess and Ripsaw has been dodgy for about 5 years now. At some stage fairly soon the 3 of them will need replacing, but I wouldn't want to see them go without suitable replacements.

I still think a family coaster for the BH tent and new flat should be the next major investment in the park. However unless Enterprise completely falls to bits I'd far rather any new ride be placed on a free spot elsewhere, preferably in Dark Forest which is in dire need of a support ride or two.

As long as Enterprise isn't too costly to maintain and isn't too unreliable then they should keep it as long as possible. It does it's job and is a good use of the space available. It would be very tricky to combine the BH tent with the Enterprise site, as the space is split in two by Oblivion.

Can you please criticise the park when they actually do something wrong, rather than bashing Merlin for the sake of bashing?

Personally I don't really want Enterprise to leave, Submission should be far higher on Alton's list of rides to replace, then again, when a new ride is built in the Black Hole tent, I hope that the whole of X-Sector is spruced up.

2015-19, I'd say. :)
