I think big areas with lots of rides should have one big shop named after the area.

Then they could just sell stuff branded to the rides in that area, and just update it when things change in that area.

As long as there is Imagination in the World, there will be bigger, better rides!

Am I right in thinking there has already been some new Nemesis branded merchandise in the Resort over the half term week?

Yep, they have changed the logo slightly and placed it on T-shirts and badges and other things, (I bought a pin badge) and it was on sale in the Air shop  :D

/\ Shame there is no Nemesis Bear like they do with the other rides. My missus collects the bears and Nemesis is the only one you can't get which is a shame.

Going on school trips, it was always the medals that won out on the merchandise sales!

However, I'm really not a fan of the branded clothes being sold in the air shop. I'd be intrigued as to how much was actually bought!!

I agree with sweets but most families take picnics into the park to save money not blow lots on  towers clothes or any other park items. Since I been going to Alton Towers all I brought in 20 years is 2 ride photos of Nemesis and Corkscrew final day and the blue rain mac. I brought more at Drayton Manor. There I brought 2 sets of tree lights,a mug and a book about the history of Drayton manor.
"Most families" don't take picnics... the vast majority of people eat on park... And whilst you may have not bought much at Towers, you proved your own point by saying you've bought more stuff at a different park, Drayton Manor. People buy merch because it is a novelty, a reminder or a memento of the day. Whilst you personally may not buy on-park food or buy any merchandise - one hell of a lot of people do (you only have to look at the queues in Towers Trading at the end of the day to see how many!) and it is a huge money spinner for the park.

Heck, I'm one of the crazy fools who have bought Towers Monopoly xD

The tree lights were for sale at 99p each so I brought 2. The book I brought for £5 and was very good. I can't remember much about the mug as I was still at school.

Is Jack gonna be there on opening day?

A new teaser video.
Just a map, which has a picture of the egg and then it cuts out.

I hope there is more to follow.

Also:

Phalanx Control ‏ @PhalanxControl

Phalanx have declared safe access for civilian visitors to site in London, UK #sub_terra

Just something to do with the above video, saying people can go and look at the egg.

I'm sure there was for 2011, but it didn't come out. I would think they would do another not until another 5 years at least.

The only issue with long times between versions is that the rides and attractions on the board then are not up to date. 2010's lasted two years because 2011 was so void of attractions xD (Anyhoo, this is straying off topic so I will shush!)

I know I maybe a bit slow compared to everyone else. But just looked at the mini site and saw the elevator video. I was laughing so much. My guess is it's going to be a bit like the tower drop ride at disney world, just with a alton towers edge to it.

Anyone seen the latest Tweet by Phalanx Control?
If not here it is:

"Phalanx have made significant progress today at Forbidden Valley site, Staffs. Work is complete on lift shaft system for civilian usage."

It's getting ever nearer :D

Excellent. With the lift shaft, we shall be able to access and visit the Phalanx HQ no doubt for guided visits!

Yeah I thought is more like an area they are looking at and not their HQ. Seems silly that they would build an HQ above the very thing that is trying to escape and kill mankind lol. According the comic, the Phalanx control should be 6 miles to the west of the Nemesis site :P

Phalanx control is actually about 630 meters, NWW of the site (115.46 degrees)
