Not a huge spoiler, but found this picture on Twitter of the ride entrance.

Liking the entrance, as it's pretty much all the attraction needs. Also, you could argue that the scaffolding around the actual logo kind of adds to the temporary feel to ride, due to the story and whatnot.

But surely people will see the scaffolding, and believe that it's a half-finished job. Like they do to TH13TEEN to this very day?

For those of you who haven't seen Midlands today and don't want to wait for BBC iPlayer here is a clip I recorded from my phone. Apologies for the crappy audio.

Seems the "celebrity" preview is kicking off at the moment, so pictures are finding their way onto Twitter. Plenty of red lighting around the entrance and ride building, hope that is a permanent fixture.

Just read the article about the 2 13 year olds from a local school who rode it.

Here's a couple of choice quotes:
"When the doors opened, they were in a dark chamber, like a cross between the Red Dwarf spaceship and the Industrial Zone from the Crystal Maze"

"It was a bit boring, it didn't really do much," said a nonchalant Phoebe. Olivia, though admitting she was scared, thought that at 2.5 minutes it was "too short – when it finished I was a bit like, was that it?"

I like the pictures we are seeing in this thread and the other one.

As a point of interest I just read this about what 'Nemesis' actually means on wikipedia.

"In Greek mythology, Nemesis (Greek, Νέμεσις), also called Rhamnousia/Rhamnusia ("the goddess of Rhamnous") at her sanctuary at Rhamnous, north of Marathon, was the spirit of divine retribution against those who succumb to hubris (arrogance before the gods). The Greeks personified vengeful fate as a remorseless goddess: the goddess of revenge. The name Nemesis is related to the Greek word νέμειν [némein], meaning "to give what is due"

So remember when you ride Nemesis or Sub Terra you are getting what you deserve  :)

That drop looks amazing! Way better than I thought it would be... It may be teeny, but by god it goes fast.

right, saw the midlands today report and it really gave nothing away. The queue entrance looks great, the drop (although small which we knew) looked forceful and the lifts, well, look fairly scary given the darkness. I have mixed views now, it looks actually very good but the reviews people are giving are nigling at me.  MUST STAY OPEN MINDED UNTIL NEXT WEEKEND!

I don't think it will be a bad ride...perhaps not amazing, but not bad. I think many of the people the press have interviewed on the ride are not able to appreciate the subtleties of themeing and story as well as others, if it's not hundreds of feet high and pulls ridiculous G's, it isn't scary.
That's bad for Towers as it will suffer a similar fate to Thirteen with its misleading marketing, however this might be one for the enthusiasts! We can hope :)

Yeah I think that might be true - they aren't fanboys  8)

I guess people want to see a video pretty badly so I'll tell you what its like right now:

-Ok, so its all dark but you can see a light in the corner
-right the light has started shaking and theres a vvvvv noise (the ride must be moving)
-screaming, blackness
-more screaming, blackness
-brief reappearance of the light
-THE END

so there you go - dont need to wait now :)

by what i have heard it seems exactly like thirteen i feel a lot of the public will say that too, don't shoot me down for wondering this but why would alton towers do something so similar again i mean air cannons and lights is the same as thirteen drop right? i would of though they would of made more of a show?

Have you ridden it or is that just a sarcastic summary of your expectations?
You didn't seem to include the drop or the lift?
If it was just a quip, i apologise but if you have details, I would love to read them?
Also, from the guardian article with the 2 kids, they mention 2.5 mins as the duration.  Do you reckon that includes everything or just the drop tower part?  If that only refers to the drop tower part then I think that's a good length.

no, no
I'm saying thats what a VIDEO would be like because thats what videos of dark rides are usually like. I reckon the actual ride will be good.
I only know what I've read here lol
