ITHOTMK

Fri Aug 08, 2008 5:05 pm

recently i've come across so many versions of this grieg classic, and i was wondering what everyones favourite version was, (excluding the original)

my favourite so far has to be the rainbow cover, the lyrics are quite bad, and sometimes don't fit right, but it's a bloody good effort

Personally I prefer the, albeit very short, Carribean version used in Splash Landings. I think it sounds by far the best version I have heard.

to be honest, I have always thought that the original Blows everything else out of the water, just my opinion. but it's a fantastic piece!

In The Hall of The Mountain King, Performed by the Jerusalem Orchestra:

I know you said APART from the original, but I haven't got a Favorite apart from the original! :D

I love the original. It reminds me of watching the old adverts, instantly knowing which park was on the tv, it sends shivers down my spine.

I also love the Splash Landings version, its very catchy. Other than that theres a few remix's out there that I like, mainly because they fill me up with excitement about Alton Towers, but all in all, nothing beats the original!

aww tom you beat me to it, the mutant racer version is excellent.

Its a masterpiece in its own right but alton have been very shrewd with the marketing and very different versions of it for the areas, rides, resort etc are very good.

i'm so glad it wasn't scrapped in the end.

I don't care if the original is "excluded" from this list, because it really is the best out of all the versions... there is NO question what so ever... all the remixes are god awful in my opinion, and its one of those peices which should just stay as a classical peice. Some peices can get away with being remixed, but this one i dont think does.

I can't seem to find the original to know what it sounds like anywhere!
Does anyone know where i can find it?
I should know but what does ITHOTMK stand for?
Thanks
Olly
This is my last Comment or View of TTF. I\'ve had enough of all this geek stuff, Im not worrying about theming or story\'s or landscaping, smoothness or what a ride is like compared to another. To just enjoy the roller coasters as fun and adrenalin filled.
