How Busy? 2009!

Fri Mar 27, 2009 10:49 am

I've searched for the normal "how busy" topic, but cant find it! Apologies if this is a needless topic...

Just wondering how busy Alton will be on the 31st March. Got a few people coming up from "down south" so I'm hoping for a quiet day!

Thanks,
RBG

It's term time.

So no, it'll be quiet.

Should be quiet on Monday... its still term time.

I am going up on Thursday under the same assumption, last time I went during term time, longest queue all day was 15min for front row Rita. Nemesis and Spinball were basically walk on, Air and Oblivion were both about 10 min. At times, Rita was only going around with 1/2 full trains.

The smaller rides were all walk on (Charlie, RMT, Duel, Rapids, Flume, Battle Galleons etc).

Hope this helps :)

The park was a lot busier than expected today. Normally the weekdays of the opening week are some of the quietest in the whole year, I don't know whether it was due to it being a fairly later opening date or whether the park is simpley becomming for and more popular, but the only walkon I really had was Air bang-on 10am and Duel.

Rita, Air, Oblivion, Nemesis and Spinball were all hitting and in some cases exceeding the 30minute mark. Water and family rides were generally quieter, with the odd 10 minute queue here and there.

It was okay, just not as "dead" as I've read it can be during this week.

Suprising, but good. The park was much busier than they expected on Saturday also. Hopefully it will make for a healthy season.

Very surprising. Ive been the last 2 years during the first week of opening and its been walk on every ride. Im going this Thursday and Friday purely based on previous experience and the first few weeks being quiet.

I agree. I visit a lot off peak and it was much busier on Monday than it usually is. However by 3.30pm nemesis was almost walk on. Great i though so i nipped over the gardens to Rita to find a 45 minute queue ! Great to see the skyride open on Monday btw.

I wonder if the the fact the Corkscrew isnt there will increase the waiting time on Rita? No other coasters in that area now other than Rita

It's the school holidays, so there'll be reasonable queue's.

I would suspect it will be busier than a normal Friday but not as busy as it should be Easter Sunday or Monday. Many people still work Good Friday. :)

I think it's really worth pointing out:

The park will be medium busy from now until, and including the 19th April 2009 as it is the main Easter school holidays across the region.
