London & Thorpe Park: 12-14 March 2010

Sat Mar 06, 2010 5:52 pm

As many of us were intending to go to the Th13teen Preview Weekend on these dates, rather than stay in and be all depressed it was canceled, several of us have pro-actively decided to visit London on this date.

Rooms are available for up to 2 adults sharing at the Chessington World of Adventures Holiday Inn priced from £40 per night + VAT. Click here to make a reservation online. The hotel is easily accessible off junction 9 of the M25 where you follow signs for Chessington World of Adventures. The hotel is also a 5 minute walk from Chessington South Railway Station. Travel from Chessington to Thorpe Park is also easy via the M25 and takes around 30 minutes.

The plan at present is as follows:

Friday 12th March
Evening @ Chessington Holiday Inn / Monkey Puzzle Pub
Accomm @ Chessington Holiday Inn

Saturday 13th March
Day in Central London
Accomm @ Chessington Holiday Inn

Sunday 14th March
10.00 - 5.00 Annual Pass Preview Day @ Thorpe Park
Return Home

Please do join us if you wish. Apologies if I have missed anyone but the following are going at the moment (I think!)

1. AstroDan
2. Vik
3. Evil Cod
4. Ellie
5. Spike
6. Ste
7. Stu

I'll probably be there for the thorpe AP preview day, but probably won't be able to spare the whole weekend. At the mo I'm planning to stay sat night in Feltham TL as its cheaper and nearer to thorpe.

Yeah glad we sorted this in end.. was a toss up between blackpool or Thorpe/Chessy/London... but due to other reasons think we decided going down south would be a more random decent weekend... also people don't think Thorpe will be busy so we'll see what they have to offer then this day. They say all rides "should" be open - we'll see, and be nice to go to London and use the Merlin Pass and also some other none Merlin attractions... then fun social saturday night before thorpe on sunday.

I believe Myself, Astro, Vik, Rob DaveL, Russell, DanB, Dagan, Saz have booked into the Chessy Hotel for Fri and Sat, with Cod/Ellie staying just friday night. Should be a good laugh and hopfuly keep us in high spirits and a warm up till Towers Opening weekend with hopfuly Th13teen open.

Myself & Ste are booked into Chessy for the weekend also. Looking forward to finally riding Saw and having a less busy Thorpe than usual. Let's hope they can provide all rides. :)

I'll be at Thorpe on the Sunday :D

Will drive from home, so will just be there for the day - won't be in London on the Saturday.

Nah, it was always too pricey for the both of us, the price we have for two nights executive is fantastic and the room looks incredible.

I have stayed in the Exec rooms before - they are stunningly designed and loads of space. That said, all the rooms (standard too) are pretty big and well designed.

It's a good hotel with good sized rooms.

I would - but a lot of the rooms only sleep two adults comfortably (unless you are sub 5'8"). Also, the room I have booked is a twin and so there's no more space.

I am sure others are after rooms though - I say you just book one anyway Dave for the Saturday!

:D

I am going to reserve a table (if I can) at the Monkey Puzzle for 8.30pm on Friday evening. I'll reserve for everyone staying at CWOA and if anyone does not want to be included then let me know.

:)
