Not sure why, but I'm struggling to feel the hype about The Swarm.

I think I'll wait until South Meet. :)

Just checking, but you know Chessington won't be open until the following weekend?

Annual Pass Preview Weekend 17th & 18th March

So Chessington is open, as I mentioned in previous posts... :-)

I'll be there in a room on my own now I guess unless Dan77, has got the days off from the Theme Park in Staffordshire?

^That, and it's not going to be much use to people coming over from Germany who won't have UK MAPs...

Seeing as my AP is still in date at this point, count me in for the whole weekend! Has anyone got a space free in a room? I'm not 100% sure if can come yet, but I know I want to. All depends if i can get out of a competition i've not yet agreed to!

I need some quick advice; would it be better to attend a small meet like this or a larger meet?

Upon realisation that I'm doing the Opening Day with Dave on the 15th (He's that excited for it! :P), I'm going to have to be a 'Maybe' on the Mini Meet since I can easily get to Thorpe from where I am but I don't know if I have the drive for Thorpe twice in one week

And Ted, it would be better to attend a small meet first so you can integrate easier and not be overwhelmed by the amount of members on a main meet.

:)

I've absolutely no idea whether or not this will be possible - need to research, but don't want to bother if there's not the interest - but...

Over New Year it was mooted that the Saturday evening meal could perhaps be had at the new Legoland Hotel (which is a 15-20 minute drive from Thorpe Park), giving people the chance to see the hotel, restaurant, bar, and a room.

As far as I'm aware, it's a family-friendly buffet affair.

Like I say, no idea how possible this would be - might well be impossible, given it'll be the hotel's first night and they're fully booked - but is anyone interested? Is it worth my looking in to it?

'I can't come to this' posts in meet topics always frustrate me, but in this instance I should probably clarify. I would genuinely love to experience this with you all folks. However, I'm working on the Saturday and am trying to avoid all the hassle of swapping Saturday shifts this year, so I wouldn't be able to come to this anyway. I'll be keeping an eye out for your verdicts though!

Not that I need an excuse for going on opening day anyway; I'm a massive geek! It's a new B&M, a wingrider, and is arguably the most significant coaster opened in the UK in years. I want to be able to say I was there when this either opened successfully or had an epic Thorpe opening day fail (hopefully the former!).
