No Limits - Speed: Fast Forward

Thu Dec 29, 2011 10:03 am

My first No Limits coaster - a launch coaster named Speed.
Speed launches from 0-150km/h in a matter of a few seconds & has two inversions - a cobra roll & an immelmann.
All opinions & improvements welcomed.

Quick update:
Smoothed out most of the transitions, reduced the acceleration force by 1/2, modified the brake run & changed the colours.
Once again, all comments are appreciated!

I'd smooth out the crest of the hill and make the boomerang bigger. Other than that, not bad.

Better than what I could ever produce, but can I reccomend a couple o things?

The final airtime hill in my opinion is too big and goes straight into the break run, could you not reduce the size of the hill, trim it (as the speed would be insane!) then pop in a helix or a couple of high speed transitions ala maverick/i305/cheetah hunt, then a 180 turn into the break run?

I'll be nice as it's your first, so I won't bother going on about heartlining or anything like that, but there are some things that must be addressed. It's far too fast and those G-forces are obscene. Keep it between -1.5<v>4.7 and laterals as low as possible. Your turns need lead-ins and lead-out, where the radius tightens, reaches the tightest radius for the turn and then gets bigger again, instead of just flying straight into the turn. Most of all though, curved break runs are a massive no. Magnetic breaks can be curved vertically, but no lateral turns should be breaked (unless you're building an old Schwartzkopf).

Keep at it, you can't expect to be good overnight, and getting out of 'RCT mode' is hard, but if you keep practicing and experimenting, you'll improve rapidly. Look at real coasters and try emulating them, and other people's NL work. On here there's only about 3 or 4 regular NL users, but places like NL Exchange would be a good place to look around, there are some great rides to download on there.

:)

Is it me or is great expectations in the background of the second pov? Not that I'm a no limits expert but I can see some improvements need to be made like the speed and the banking. Good luck with your next coaster try an B&M :D

Right, I think I've got the the final version, so enjoy!
I have been round the track & I have smoothed every segment & vertex, & I think it's a lot better.
Once again, all comments appreciated.
Also, what do you think of the new name?
