Knockout RCT3 Designs (idea)

Tue Jul 23, 2013 1:59 pm

I had an idea...

Why don't we start a new competition where a member sets a scenario (e.g. Design a terrain hugging inverted to replace Nemesis) and then we volunteer ourselves to satisfy it. The least popular designs are knocked out, and then we select another scenario and try again. Then, the winner will win a custom signature thing, if we are lucky, or just a virtual Brownie point.

Who's interested?

If you do have any ideas, do PM me with your inputs. You never know, it may be one of the challenges!

I'll do it... but I don't have any ideas yet. I think I'll stick to the building!

1st scenario

With The Smiler taking pride of place in the UK for inversions, and Collosus showing it's age, Thorpe Park have commissioned a new rollercoaster, to take it's place.

You work for B&M. You must design a rollercoaster that fits within a 22 x 35 area, including scenery and theming. There must be at least 1 inversion.

The marking scheme is out of 35 and is as follows:
15 for the rollercoaster
10 for scenery and theming
10 for the station and queueline.

Entrants must show several pictures detailing the above criteria and the rollercoaster layout. Entries must be shown on this forum by midnight on Sunday 11th August, but can be inputted before. Points will be deducted for late entries unless a valid excuse is given. Judging will then commence.

You both have 2 lives. When you lose a scenario (come last), you lose 1 life. Whoever dosen't lose both lives first wins!

Good luck and I am looking forward to seeing your entries!

So we design an awful ride and then we win? You've got to lose 2 lives?

I've changed the date to the 11th, so you have an extra week!
And yes it now definitely is a Sunday! :D

Basically, you make the best coaster within a 20 x 35 area, with 1 inversion, including scenery, landscaping if you like, and all the other stuff detailed in the Scenario 1 comment.

Edit: Oh, yes, now I see the typo... Fixed

You guys!
You probably thought that I was going to sit on my bum all day lazing, basically doing nothing until voting day, but I decided to pass the time to enter myself (may I stress that my score DOES NOT COUNT)
Here is my ride, Pterodactyl Terror- T-REX ATTACK!:
