Ok any decent quotes from films, etc, that you like?

"A man cannot walk forward if all he sees is what is behind him."

Blade runner:
"All these memories will fade like tears in rain"

From 'V for Vendetta':

"Little did we know, we were happy."

I always think of that quote whenever I feel a bit down, because it reminds me things could be so much worse - like that lesbian couple in the film who were happy despite all the mundanities and problems their lives threw at them (like body image problems :P) - then it got so much worse, when they were persecuted and tortured under the demands of an oppressive authoritarian regime. Then all they wished for was to have their old problems back, because although they didn't think it at the time, life had been good.

So I always think things could be so much worse and one day I might look back at this time of my life and long for it, down days and all.

One from Peep Show for me:

"Oh God I think I'm in love. Or I'm getting a bone on, which is basically the same thing if you cut out all the Valentine's cards and bulls**t" :P

Always makes me laugh!

    "The 4 C's of Creativity: Curiosity, Confidence, Consistency, and Courage"

    "If you can dream it, you can do it!"

    "It's kind of fun to do the impossible."

    "There are two types of person. The first sees a blank piece of paper as the most frightening thing in the world and the other sees it at greatest opportunity in the world."

"For some things, there is no rational explanation"

hehe

no seriously, my favourite quote is from The Breakfast Club

"Brian Johnson: Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But we think you're crazy to make an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us... In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain... and an athlete... and a basket case... a princess... and a criminal... Does that answer your question?... Sincerely yours, the Breakfast Club."

From Michael Jackson's 'Black or White':

"I'm not gonna spend my life being a colour"

It's a song, but... I love that.

Walt Disney. It's a great model for life.

Just put one of his anti-semitic comments in there and you're good to go... :lol:

Failing to Prepare is Preparing to Fail.

Another Brilliant Poem below too. I hope you take th time to read it, its absolutely brilliant. Taken from Mike Bassett: England Manager and created by Rudyard Kipling. So inspirational and memorising.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream -- and not make dreams your master;
If you can think -- and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings -- nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run --
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And -- which is more -- you'll be a Man, my son!

One day I'll fly away
Leave all this to yesterday
Why live life from dream to dream?
And dread the day when dreaming ends

Not meaningful to everyone, but its from Moulin Rouge, and I don't know it been sort of a personal motto for me, to take chances, make something of your dreams, live life for the moment, and don't live to regret. :)

I was weirdly thinking about this poem last night when I posted in the "If.." topic. (For those that don't know, the poem is called "If..") It is a great poem.

Churchill speeking to The House of Commons in the June of 1940:

"Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, "This was their finest hour.""

Brian Clough looking back at his carrer:

"I wouldn't say I was the best manager in the business. But I was in the top one."

And on Man Utd on opting out of the F.A cup to play in the world club championship:

"Manchester United in Brazil? I hope they all get bloody diarrhea."

Also on Martin O'Neil during his time at Leicester:

"Anybody who can do anything in Leicester but make a jumper has got to be a genius."
