I'm a 'Lighting and Vision Controler' for the BBC, at Television Center in London.
It sounds alot more improtant than it is! My main job is 'racking' the cameras. Basicly, the cameraman/woman moves, points, zooms and focuses the camera, but I control the exposure and colour balance by remote control. This is so that all the different cameras can match each other.
On a music show like Later, with 6 cameras and flashing coloured lights this can get quite hectic!
I sometimes also operate the lighting consoles for either conventional or automated lights.
I can work on just about any show thats made there, but my regulars are Sport (Football focus /Score /Match of the Day / Inside Sport etc), Later With Jools, TMi, Alan Tichmarsh (not a BBC show, but ITV hire our studios).
I Have occasionaly worked on Eastenders, or 'big events' like Children in Need.
In other words... I get paid to watch telly, press buttons and twiddle knobs! :P
