If You Won £85million Tonight...

Fri Sep 18, 2009 10:08 am

Well what the title says really. It's euro millions tonight, £85m! Most say yeah big house and fast car etc. But from a theme park side of things, what would you do with £85m. Would you buy a house and stick a few towers coasters in back garden if you got planning lol. What else would you buy lol. I'd start off buying everyone Merlin annual passes lmao and take a load of mates to a VIP trip to florida. So yeah, what would you buy/do which was practical...

I think I would spend £5 to 10 million on a house, sort myself out with a nice collection of cars; about £2m worth.

£5-10 million - House/s
£2 million - Cars
£8 million - Family
£30 million - Investments/Business ventures
£10 million - Contingency trust
£25 million - Bank fund for living expenses/other uses

However, I would be tempted to stick a B&M in the back garden :P

I almost bought a ticket for this, but then decided against it. SO many people will have bought tickets the odds are just ridiculous.

However if I won all that money I'd split most of it between my family! :)

I really disagree with this logic, yes the odds of actually winning it are crazy,

76,275,360/1 or 0.0000000131 in decimal terms, I believe are the odds of winning the top prize. However by not buying a tickets your odds are 0. I rather have that 0.0000000131 chance of winning £85 (€100) million than none at all.

£2 million - Cars

How could you possibly spend that much on cars? :?

If I won 85 million squid, I'd probably give half of it away, or put it into a high interest bank account then give it away in a few years. I'd probably save about half a million for myself and my family, treat ourselves to a few holidays we've always wanted to do, and pay off the mortgage ect.

The rest I'd spend on a new UK theme park. I'd run it not-for-profit, Efteling style, with all money made put back into new attractions and paying the staff well. With 40 million I'd probably buy a well-themed GCI (about £8 million), an Intamin Mega-Lite (about £10 to £12 million) and a Vekoma mine train (about £5 million). The other £15 million would be spent on land, infrastructure, and other smaller rides such as flats, dark rides and water rides. I'd probably have to borrow some money on top of my win to make this a reality though, especially buying the land.

2 million on cars would be a challenge for me, most cars I like aren't in the supercar bracket - eg Arial Atom isn't too expensive, but an original AC Cobra, and classic Dodge Viper (for the missus) would cost a few quid.

I don't think building a park from scratch would be possible but how about pouring some investment into an existing park? £30m could add a couple of class rides to a second class park. Then again, if you went to AT and said "here's £30m towards you're new rides for 2011/12", add that on top of cash they would have invested anyway and it makes the rides world-class not just great. Add a caveat to the investment that gives you an input into the choice of ride, and some exclusive park access. It's an expensive spend but would be fun when money's no object.

£2 million on cars would be easy! You would have a lot of them, especially me as simple cars like the Ford Focus are my favourite!

£85 million? I'd buy all the CDs, Games DVDs I'd want, fix up/or a new car for Mum and straight away persue a rallying career!

Where to start? First of all, I'd personally provide all the money needed for Secret Weapon 7 (if and when AT decide to construct it), which would be up to £20m, leaving me with £65m. I'd then buy a really nice house (budget of £5m), and a fleet of cars (budget of £10m), meaning £50m left. £10m would go in a high-interest bank account, and another £10m would go to charities, such as the RNLI. Of course, I wouldn't be able to leave TowersTimes unaccounted for would I? I'd be shot! :P I'd give £1m to TowersTimes, as that would help to keep the site running for years. Right, £29m to go. I'd take a load of my mates on a cross-America roadtrip, all in those massive motorhomes (i.e. The Performance, which was featured on Top Gear at a cost of £750,000 for ONE, so I'd probably need ten of them, totalling £7.5m), so £20.5million left. Probably another £500,000 to charity, to leave me £20m. Oh, wait, I forgot to include expenses for the cross-America roadtrip, which could potentially be about £2m, so I'd then be left with £18m. I'd probably share the rest out between my family and friends.

Trust me, it would be easssy to spend £2m on cars.

Veyron Grand Sport - £1.6 million alone

Bentley - £150,000

Rolls - £250,000

R8 - £130,000

Collection of Astons - few million

Not forgetting all the classics... I could go on forever.

First thing I'd do is buy a plane ticket for Paris and walk into a 5 star hotel and buy the most expensive suite. :D

Then I'd pay off my university fees and loans, pay off my parents mortage etc.

Then I'd put money away for my neice and nephew.

Then I'd go shopping!

Buy myself a car, a flat in Leicester and one in London, and a holiday villa.

Then I'd go travelling. :D

Then with the left overs i'd put it away for when it was needed!

Yeahhh i'm quite boring, I'm too money concious for my own good! :D

After setting myself and my family up for life, I'd use the remainder of the money to put a bid in for Lightwater Valley.

I know that may sound noobish but I seriously would if given the chance.

Afterall, it wouldn't cost a great deal.

goodness thats quite an obscene amount of money!

Erm first thing would be to book a holiday for my family, my parents and sister +brother in law on a cruise all in big suites to the carribean woop.

Next Id pay my Mortgage off on this house and then start building my dream house (which I have the floorplan and decore already in my head).

Erm go to the pub and get drunk.

Buy me and Rich a new car each, something practical, maybe a ford focus? (dont want anything ridiculous) or the Vaxhaull Insignia? Rich would probably want something abit nicer.

Give my family alot each to make sure they are secure forever.

Set a trust fund up for the kids oooh and take them to Disney Tokyo (we arent allowed to the Florida one lol) so they'd love that.

Erm yeah and I'd give probably most of it to charity.
