Lol really? When Heskey plays, Rooney has scored 9 in 10 games. When other strikers have partnered Rooney he has scored 2 in 10. Heskey and Rooney link up best.

Try finding me a justifiable reason to take Bent over Heskey.

I'd have dropped Ferdinand, Carrick and Rooney personally.

Yes, because Theo has amazing speed, and can change the match, some examples:

Hat trick against Croatia.
Arsenal vs Barcelona, he helped us make that comeback, setting up or first goal and being inspirational.

Bent: 25 goals this season
Heskey: Not even 10

Walcott is way too inconsistent and can't cross. Lennon can.

And lol, you just totally missed my point.

Bent's not experienced enough with England, yes 25 goals with Sunderland all good. But why should Capello change a tactic that's been working for now by taking a MASSIVE risk with Bent. Heskey is a team player that has worked for England so far. Simples.

I would've liked to have seen Bent included in the squad. He wouldn't have been in my first 11, but the final 23 definitely. Scoring 20+ goals in the Prem isn't a fluke, and I personally think he deserved a place at the WC.

50/50 over Walcott tbh - I think he offers something a bit different though and could've been a good option as a subsitute in the group games when the opposition are tired.

Players I wouldn't have included are Carragher (considering that he was retired throughout the qualifiers!), Carrick (he's a good player, but that's about it & hasn't had a great season - if Hargreaves had have been fit he definitely would've gone) & Matthew Upson. Meh, again decent but not good enough for England - Dawson would've been my choice.

Walcott has had a poor season and I think its right that hes been left out.

Bent instead of Heskey, not sure really, Heskey is effective alongside Rooney but doesnt score enough.

Lescott isnt that good tbf, I am glad he isnt going.

As for the captaincy, I think Rio is a good choice.

I am excited about the WC now, come on England!

I would have taken Theo as well, since the Croatia game all international sides we have played have put at least two players on him at all times. There were times when he had 4 on him against Mexico. This creates a lot of room for Rooney to drop into or Lampard to drive into.

England potential scapegoat count is down to 2.
Bookies nationwide shorten odds on Wayne Rooney being sent death threats and being burnt in effigy.

Bad news: Rio's out of the tournament

But that doesn't matter, we will win the world cup, and we'll win it for him. Because we are the mighty england, and we'll win the world cup, 2010 is our year. 2010 is going to be a glorious year for English football, i believe we can win it, and so should everyone else.

So lets all show our support for 23 Englishmen and 1 Italian!

Look on the bright side, it's piss easy till the semis. And then we can lose in normal time for once to the Brazilians!

I did predictor on BBC last night and I had Argentina to win one time, and Spain on another lol.

We'd get knocked out in the semis by Argentina and Brazil respectively I think it was.

I'm confident we can get to the semis if we top our group, and Germany top theirs (so we dodge them), we'll face that 2nd place (Serbia I reckon) and then we'll have France (most likely I reckon).

---- Post Info Added ----

Right. So. here's my hunch of where I think every team will get to:

South Africa: Round of 16
France: Quarters
Mexico: Group Stage
Uruguay: Group Stage

Argentina: Winners
Greece: Round of 16
Nigeria: Group Stage
South Korea: Group Stage

Algeria: Group Stage
England: Semis
Slovenia: Group Stage
USA: Round of 16

Australia: Group Stage
Germany: Quarters
Ghana: Group Stage
Serbia: Round of 16

Cameroon: Round of 16
Denmark: Group Stage
Japan: Group Stage
Netherlands: Quarters

Italy: Quarters
New Zealand: Group Stage
Paraguay: Round of 16
Slovakia: Group Stage

Brazil: Runners Up
Ivory Coast: Group Stage
North Korea: Group Stage
Portugal: Round of 16

Chile: Group Stage
Honduras: Group Stage
Spain: 3rd Place
Switzerland: Round of 16

Deary me England... especially Green WTF is he doing! You were ment to goal keep not let the ball in the net... We need a decent goalkeeper who can keep his calm. Is James injured. Poor England. I am dissapointed in my country very much. The score was 1 - 1 (Eng V USA) Gerrard for us in 4th min and basically an own goal by Green (although it wasn't classed as that...)  :x :x :(

The only bit of the game that interested me ^. Cute bird just sat there. :D. Rooney hitting back at the fans? Well since you get paid megabucks to entertain us then i think we have the right to boo you! Rooney was poor, terry poor and the game? Truly awful. Do you think cappelo is a secret italian maffia? Making us play so poorly? To get us out?

Real football fans don't boo. It's simply a matter of principle.

I agree, England played badly, but for the fans to turn on the team like that was unbelievable. Over expectant and deluded fans kill confidence, it makes it harder to pick up your head and carry on playing. I see no point in booing your team off. You can say people are entitled to their opinion, well here's mine. No matter how much you pay to watch your team, just simply as a matter of morals and integrity, you should never boo a team off. Two wrongs don't make a right.

England as a whole - football, team, tactics, management - an absolute disgrace last night.
