SimCity

Anyone excited about the new SimCity game? It's pretty much SimCity 5 but is being named just SimCity as a reboot of the series. With nearly a decade since the truly stunning SimCity 4, this has got me very excited!

Absolutely gorgeous trailer.

It'll be the first game in the series to include curved roads and be truly in 3D, which will be a massive leap forwards.

I recommend to anyone reading this article about the incredible-sounding new GlassBox system. Unlike previous games where stuff like traffic congestion would be shown by a visual representation, every single thing in the game will be an actual dynamic object.

That means that everytime a sim drives anywhere, that car will actually travel down the roads, and if too many cars are on the road, it'll cause a real traffic jam. Multiply that by thousands of times and include air pollution, factory output, units of water and stuff, and you get an incredibly realistic simulation. It's hard to explain, but just read the article.

So excited.

Having only played it under Nintendo development. I will be interested to see what EA has done with the series.

It's looking good.

Is it just for PC?

A 3DS version would be epic.

Based on how incredibly complex and processor-heavy the Glassbox engine sounds, I doubt they could get it on the 3DS. SimCity doesn't really feel like a game suitable for handheld consoles...

There are some things in life that you need, and some things in life that you just want. This... this is a necessity! :D

Looks and sounds incredable.

I wonder if this sort of system could be implemented into RCT3?

Looks amazing! I love Sim City!

But then, I read it's going to be available on Window's only! Disappointing  :x

Yep! Looking awesome!

I haven't played the series since SimCity2000 (UK edition, no less ;)) but I think it's safe to say this will get me back into it.

Looks pretty good to be honest! I LOVED SimCity 4 played it solidly when i got it, sadly the aspect ratio screws up on my monitor so it's uncomfortable to play!

This one should be pretty good! :D  No doubt ruined by how awful EA is. It'll probably require an origin account to play and a constant internet connection knowing them...

One thing I always look for in a game is realism. The new SimCity definitely appears to deliver that!

I've always been a fan of EA 'Sim' games, and I am really looking forward to getting my hands on this.

There really is nothing more satisfying than a nice, new game with amazing graphics - with a brilliant concept. Hopefully the new developments in this game won't detract from the original fun of the older SimCity games.
