I expected Greece vs Poland at first to be a cagey game, infact I expected the whole tournament to be rather boring, but last night I was shocked with two top of the class games of football. Although Greece didn't look like a side that had topped their group over Croatia, they were typical Greece and stayed defensive and tried to push Gekas forward. Poland took advantage of this with running them about. Poland only wanted a draw it seemed towards the end, which was odd. Once Poland got Greece into sixes and sevens, they could break through. I'm sure Russia will try to take advantage of this, but I'm not sure about the Czech's, they just didn't lack any bite like they used to with Nedved. Yuracech looks the best making his runs down the flanks. Don't get me started on how Arshavin looked like the man that Arsenal signed.
The refereeing desicions have been contraversial though, Greece's disallowed goal wasn't offside in my opinion, but I don't think Scezney should of been sent of and even if it was a penalty. Howard Webb looked a bit nervous at the start, but he's more harsh on the cards now which is good and kept the game flowing. I wonder if this loss that Russia truly deserved to win will of deflated the Czech's seemingly comfertable winnable game against the Greeks. And now to my predictions for tonight.
Denmark 0-2 Netherlands
Germany 1-0 Portugal (Portugal still with their recent bland tournament curse)
