When I was younger I had a minor fear of rides but I was always interested in watching them. Obviously, I wasn't tall enough for most of this time. Then when i was at the pleasure beach for some reason I just said 'Why not?' and went on the big one. After I had realised what I had done I got a sudden obssesion for rollercoaster and consider that a life-changing moment. Lol. I always wonder what I was scared of though.  ;)

I'm not sure. It was some ride in Italy (I think?) , Milan. It was a slow roller coaster/ride and went through some tunnels (caves) and stuff. My dad actually filmed an onride POV on our very old video camera. I might be able to find that if I rummage around. Must have been around 5. I also remember that my brother had his first roller coaster there also, and it was a big one that went upside at least once. This completely put him off big rides until he was maybe 12 when we went to Oakwood and we went on Speed almost 10 times in a row. I remember more vivdly a spinning mouse ride which was in  Barcelona. I think this was a temporary ride and it wasn't part of a theme park. My first inverting ride was Infusion at Blackpool. Good times.....

UPDATE. It was called Rutschebanen at Tivoil Gardens, Copenhagen. I loved that ride and it started my obssesion with roller coasters.  :) Proud to say that my first coaster was a wooden coaster. Woodies No. 1  :D

sorry if I'm bringing a dead thread but I just wanted to say my first was the hornet at flambards. I have no idea how young I was at the time I think it must have been around when I was 10. I remember it being massive at the time and amazingly quick but looking back at it and looking it up on ultimate rollercoaster I have found it really isn't ether of those.

My first coaster was Skyways at Clarence Pier in Portsmouth (Mr Bean rollercoaster) but my first real coaster was the Corkscrew all the way back in 1986!

Jungle coaster at legoland windsor. Or the dragon at legoland Windsor.

They were both on the same day 7 years ago, I can't quite remember which came first

First and at time of writing only upside down rollercoaster was rock 'n' roller coaster at disneys Hollywood studios, Florida

My very first roller coaster, as far as I can remember, was the Runaway Train at Chessington, when I was about four, but the first 'proper' roller coasters was Vampire, aged seven, which is where the obsession with roller coasters started, really.

Mine would of been the Log Coaster at Gulliver's Kingdom many, many years ago. My parents used to always take me there and it's where my love of theme parks started!

Then Corkscrew would of been my first coaster with an inversion about 10/11 years ago.
