If you could class fantasy island at ingoldmells a theme park then there. Its got the odyssey coaster which I honestly love apart from the banging headache it gives after a few rides I'm about 90 miles to towers
I live less than 2 miles from the towers and can see the fireworks from my house, absolute heaven!!! see where not all grumpy locals, most people around here actually love the place it's a shame it's only ever the bad side of it that gets publicised!!!
Local Park - Brean Leisure Park. Local 'Theme' Park - Thorpe... Or Oakwood. The latter is geographically far closer, however it takes a full 1/2 hour longer to get there than it does to get down to Chertsey. Despite all of this though, I still consider my 'home' park to be AT.

I'm about an hour from Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park and Legoland. I used to live in Woking which was dead handy for all of those! I'm also an hour from Adventure Island (not a theme park, but they do have a Gerstlauer Eurofighter there) depending on traffic on the Dartford Crossing.
I'm quite lucky in that I also have a good friend who lives within an hour of Alton Towers and family within an hour of Oakwood which makes trips to these distant parks a lot easier without incurring the cost of a hotel.
