I'd love to go to Oakwood, I'm also off that week as well. Only trouble is, it is such a long, long drive. Even though the distance is less than to Thorpe, the travelling time is in excess of 4 hours.

I'll give it some consideration though. :D

Well, we are back from Sunny Wales and our holiday was enhanced by a lovely day spent at Oakwood theme park in Pembrokeshire.

Rides competed:
Speed x 2
Megafobia x 2
Hydro x 1
Bounce x 2
Treetops x 1
Pirate ship x 1

:D

Our day began by us parking the car on a small (very small ) car park, followed by an immense 30 second walk to the park entrance. I say entrance but it was actually a hut, yes you heard me correctly. The entrance was a large hut with a window where you paid as you walked past. The queue to get into the park was an extra-ordinary 5mins (as we were 5 mins early and the park hadn't opened yet), and it was then that we had to make a decision. To walk the rides (only 400 meters away) or catch the train. We chose to walk.
The park was small but perfectly formed. It was clean and the staff were polite and courteous. We walked straight onto most of the rides but had to wait 10 mins for Speed while they put another train on. The park didn't have much in the way of theming. But we were amazed at how much was on offer for such a small entrance fee.
And before you all ask. I was on my best behavior and successfully restrained my usual calls for more speed etc. Although I might have said something to a punter who thought that Bounce was the most intense ride in the UK.
All in all a lovely family day.

:D
