So Fins has apparently gone part-time. Apart from preview day, every subsequent time I've been there it has been closed for food until 5:30pm. Today it appeared that it at least opened for drinks in the early afternoon. Bit of a shame, as none of the other food places have the same atmosphere or food available.

There's also a new menu available in Sombrero's Burrito Bar.

If it is the case that Fin's is no longer going to be open for lunch then that is really disappointing. It was always my go to place to eat on the Resort as it generally offered a nice range of food options from lighter bites, to a more substantial meal.

However, I do like the look of the new menu at Sombrero' Burritos. Whilst it clearly isn't mexican themed, I do like the look of the Indian and Malaysian wraps (plus they appear to have the added bonus of being a rare food item that doesn't have cheese in them!) and may have to give them a go next time I visit.

Fin's has reopened for lunch today, running the same reduced menu that was seen at preview day.

Weirdly, the Fin's House Burger has had a slight change with a brioche bun now used. I'm not sure I overly like the combination. The chips were good though.

I may have just never noticed it this year, but it appears that Proper Cornish have been relocated to Peckish rather than outright removed.

I didn't really see any sign of them at the counter this weekend, but it would be great if they are regularly available. Especially given the increased popularity of Sombrero's making the queue longer :lol.

I had a burger at Fins on the day of the Southern Screamer and whilst it was ok, I do think the reduced menu is a bit of a shame as they used to have a pretty good selection of dishes to choose from.  Having said that, the pasty place looks interesting so I may check it out next time I'm at Thorpe :)

Food options at all the Merlin Parks are quite dull really. It’s basic, cheap food that they can make a profit on and doesn’t require any skill to make/reheat. It’s such a shame that the food options are so terrible. Theme parks are supposed to be fun places where even the food should be magical, but Merlin Parks are terrible.

As reported by SouthParks News, the Coca Cola Freestyle machines at Thorpe Park Resort have received a new software update, with guests now able to design their own Freestyle drink and the introduction of Mezzo Mix to the drinks menu, the first time the mix has been available in the UK.

By downloading the Coca Cola Freestyle app, guests can choose up to three drinks to mix together before arriving at the Freestyle station and give their creation its own name. When ready, guests scan a QR code on the machine which allows the drink recipe to be uploaded from the app to the machine ready to pour.

As reported by SouthParks News, a tasty new addition has arrived to The Island Shop at Thorpe Park Resort, with Krispy Kreme now available.

Choices include Chocolate Dreamcake, Strawberries and Kreme, Salted Caramel Cheesecake and Original Glazed, with options for single doughnuts or multi-pack bundles.

Fancied a change yesterday, so decided to eat at Pizza Pasta. We'd eaten at the one at Alton Towers several times across the season, so we knew how it worked- get shown to a table, then go up to get food and fight your way through the crowds until you're satisfied with the amount you've got, before repeating until you're about to burst. Thorpe's, however, was pure chaos.

After paying, we eventually found a table (was interesting to see mostly large tables, which meant finding space just for a group of two was a struggle). Deciding to start with drinks, we scrambled around to find cups, which weirdly enough wasn't by the dispensers- and we were off-puttingly greeted by this:

Then back to the other side of the restaurant to get drinks, where the surfaces were also incredibly messy and was caked in various liquids and cups, alongside a dispenser which was wrapped up in plastic; presumably broken. Weirdly enough, they had a more "traditional" machine dispensing pure juices, like the ones you'd see during breakfast at a hotel. Cory decided to sample the orange juice, and assured me that it tasted weirdly off.
Well, food next. Now, I understand that we did go during peak time, so we understood that getting to the pizza pans was going to be a bit of a battle. But unfortunately, they were very poorly stocked. Every time I went to grab a slice, the pans would virtually be empty, with no signs of more pizzas on the way. I eventually gave up bothering to go up and get more, because I knew that by the time I'd gotten there, there'd be nothing left. Meanwhile at Alton Towers, there's a seemingly endless supply of food- so even if you take the last bit from a pan, there's always more so you can really have as much as you'd like- but at Thorpe, there was barely enough to seem satisfactory.

Our experience here was incredibly frustrating, and I really don't want to eat there again. The surfaces were all incredibly messy, staff seemed dis-interested, and there was a lack of food, which made the whole ordeal a bit worthless.
